I had an epiphany today while sitting in the oncologist's office. There's so much talk and paraphernalia about finding cures for cancer. There's bitter talk about why Heavenly Father would allow such suffering. I sat there thinking to myself, No. My heart tells me it's not like that at all! ... Think of the communities and families that have come together to love, serve, and mourn with one another.

Our Father in heaven provides opportunities every day for us to keep his commandments, to follow His ultimate example of serving, loving, caring for His spirit children, our spirit brothers and sisters. I get to experience firsthand on a daily basis how beautiful the hearts of mankind really are.

Turn off the news of contentious politics, crime, and adultery for a bit. You'll find a world of compassion. PLEASE ACCEPT MY GRATITUDE to all those who uplift and show me what leading a Christ-like life is really all about. Loads and loads of LOVE!!!

Leyna!

This is what happens when Mom & Dad think they can leave their kids downstairs alone for a while watching a quiet movie. Leyna got a whole canister of powdered sugar and managed to dump it all over the counters, floors, chairs, and obviously, herself. No matter how much I washed it, our floor was sticky for over a week.

New Years Eve

When the clock struck midnight, we had just finished a game of Settlers with Cory, Anders and our great friends Chris and Chelsea. It got a bit competitive, to say the least. It was so much "fun" that we decided to play another game, this time a crazy game of Dominoes. Competitive spirits surged and at 2:30 am when the game ended, we were more than happy to call it a night. What? You want to know who won? Well, you didn't hear this from me, but I won the game of Settlers and Chelsea rocked the Dominoes game! Girls Rule, Boys Drool! We love you, guys!

Christmas Day

I suppose I have Grandpa Larry and Uncle Mark to thank for the buzzing sounds we have nonstop around the house. The kids love their remote controlled cars and helicopters. -- And I especially love dodging them around the house and picking them up constantly. :) Christmas was fun as always, and made so much better with family visiting. In addition to having Joan & Larry with us all week, we were lucky to have Aunt Cory and cousin Anders fly in from New Jersey on Christmas Day. Then, Aunt Kristi joined us the day after Christmas for shopping, movies, shopping, eating, shopping. (yes, I failed to get pictures so I'm counting on Cory to send me some good photos to share.)

Christmas Eve

As you'll see, I wasn't much of a photographer during the holidays; our photo options are very limited, but here's a glimpse of some of our fun. Mark, Lori, Jayci & Jaydin drove in on Christmas Eve night from Corona, along with Joan & Larry from Prescott. Along with our company, we enjoyed a big ham dinner and fun game of Apples to Apples (which Kaden won).
