Briana Stephen

I had an epiphany today while sitting in the oncologist's office. There's so much talk and paraphernalia about finding cures for cancer. There's bitter talk about why Heavenly Father would allow such suffering. I sat there thinking to myself, No. My heart tells me it's not like that at all! ... Think of the communities and families that have come together to love, serve, and mourn with one another.

Our Father in heaven provides opportunities every day for us to keep his commandments, to follow His ultimate example of serving, loving, caring for His spirit children, our spirit brothers and sisters. I get to experience firsthand on a daily basis how beautiful the hearts of mankind really are.

Turn off the news of contentious politics, crime, and adultery for a bit. You'll find a world of compassion. PLEASE ACCEPT MY GRATITUDE to all those who uplift and show me what leading a Christ-like life is really all about. Loads and loads of LOVE!!!

Lagoon

This past weekend was worth the 24 hours of driving it took to get us to and from Utah with the kids. Here's a glimpse of our exhausting, but fun trip.

Thursday we met Shayne and her kids at the Excalibur in Vegas for lunch before heading on to Cedar City where we met up with Mom and Dad. Friday morning we parted ways with Dad and Eric so that Eric could meet up with Kristi and Gary to prepare for his 1000 Warriors bike race in Park City. Mom, the kids and I drove 4 hours to Lagoon, just north of Salt Lake City. I wish I could have captured on film, all the fun we had. The kids said it was way better than Legoland or Disneyland, and I was stoked to learn at the end of the day that it was a 2-for-1 day, so I was able to get $100 back from our entry fee! Awesome!

Mom & Kami in line...it was soooo hot! A little tip: don't pay the $2.50 for bottled waters. Go to Pioneer Village and get large styrofoam cups of ice water for $0.25 each.

The Dino Drop was Gavin's favorite ride, along with the Haunted House, which he said he had to duck through because it scared him so badly.

Even in the heat of the day, Leyna finds joy in applying lipstick.

In line waiting for the Spider ride.

Kaden was so scared to do this Screamer ride, but afterwards wanted to redeem himself to prove that he could ride it by himself. To his credit, it does look scary to be flipped upside down with no seatbelts.
